Probiomics' clinical trials program is focused on our lead strain of probiotic - PCC® (Lactobacillus fermentum VRI-003).
Clinical trials provided information about the capacity of the strain to colonise in the human intestinal tract as well as to reduce symptoms of gastrointestinal disturbances including diarrhoea and medically diagnosed irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Subsequent studies have extended the gastrointestinal applications of PCC® and also have examined its role in modulating and boosting the immune system of both healthy subjects and subjects with an immune disorder, such as atopic dermatitis.
All trials are conducted under protocols approved by Human Research Ethics Committees and conform to Good Clinical Practice, and most are conducted by health professionals who are independent of Probiomics Ltd. All clinical trials are randomised, placebo controlled, double blinded, and when appropriate, cross-over in design.
Results have demonstrated exciting and promising health benefits for users of this safe, natural product. The results have been submitted for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals, providing an even higher level of confidence in the products (Progastrim®, proTract®) containing this organism.
